How to Register as a Paramedic in Prince Edward Island

All licenses are issued by the College of Paramedicine Prince Edward Island

https://www.cppei.ca/

The College of Paramedicine of PEI is now the authority that regulates paramedicine. Your registration with the College provides licensure to practice paramedicine in our province.

The College has created a new public-facing website with information for new applicants, existing registrants and the public. The website links to an online registration system where new applicants can apply for registration, and existing members maintain their professional profile and renew their registration annually. Renewal is due in March every two years and your cooperation in accessing an online account to update your information is required.

If you were an active registered member or provisional registrant of the PEI EMS Board on March 31, 2024, your name, email address, and designation were provided to CPPEI by the Board, and you already have an account in the new online system. You will find the instructions on how to access your online account below. (please do so now to avoid unnecessary delays at renewal time).

Registrants are not required to provide the criminal record screening results or certificate of professional liability insurance at this time.

Accessing your online account:

If you were an active registrant of the EMS Board on March 31, 2024, and your name is not on the list of registered paramedics, please contact the Registrar. https://www.cppei.ca/members-list

If your name is on the list in the link above, please follow the steps below.

NOTE: The email you provided the EMS Board may no longer be in use by you and will need to be changed if this is the case.  DO NOT PAY $150 TO ACTIVATE A NEW ACCOUNT. Please contact the College so they can update your email in the system.

To access your online registration system (HMS) profile, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the login screen
  2. Click/tap the Forgot password?
  3. Enter the email address you would have provided to the EMS Board
  4. Please contact the registrar if this step does not function as the likely issue is a wrong email.
  5.  Click/tap the Continue button. The system will send a message with instructions to the email address you provided. Follow the instructions.
NOTE: If you don’t see the message in your inbox, look for it in your Spam or Junk folder. The system uses [email protected] email address to send notifications.
  6. Again, if you do not receive the message, the likely issue is that your email requires updating. DO NOT PAY $150 TO ACTIVATE A NEW ACCOUNT.

Kind regards,

Bernie
